I was on a Radio Show!
I recently had the pleasure of doing an in depth interview with Briar Lee Mitchell on her podcast called "Cue the Applause" on a radio show called "Artist First Radio Network". This interview was an hour long and honestly the process was very chill and relaxing, especially after the fact that I was having a small nervous break down about it.
I was first approached by Briar on my website while I was on vacation believe it or not, and I was surprised to even get something like this coming my way, especially since most messages I get are from spam bots telling me how they can make my website better.
Briar was such a delight and very informative and responsive. I did a bit of digging myself because I want to be sure I am connecting with someone who is legit and like minded and knows what they are talking about. Seeing as how I was one of only a few she has interviewed so far, I listened back to past interviews she has done and found that this was definitely something where I felt like I could take a chance on.
I had done previous podcasts before, one when I was younger for a local convention, another with BoomRattle which was scripted and recorded ahead of time, but this was a first in just having a mindful and fun conversation with someone who genuinely wanted to know more about the craft and had an interest in what I was saying in real time. We bonded over our love of true crime and serial killers, and she found it very fun that a good amount of my cosplays come from the horror genre! We set up only 5 to 10 minutes ahead of time through zoom, and it was very nice to be able to see her face as we chatted and genuinely just felt like we were in the same room having a fun conversation.
In a sense this feel like some sort of review, which I don't necessarily want to make it that way. But as someone who likes to share my experiences in the world of cosplay and what I do, I just want to inform those who do enjoy reading these or who do watch my videos of the things I do that about these experiences and how I felt during them! I want to make this particular blog so people can know I did this, and from one small influencer to another I want to spread awareness of these happenings to others so that they may experience them as I did!
